The weapon fabric, derived from the uniforms worn at the U.S. Army's West Point Military Academy, is woven using 30-count double-ply cotton yarn. It is woven slowly on a shuttle loom, giving the fabric more volume and a soft, lustrous feel. It follows the details of the 1942 military chino model, such as the double-needle rolled stitching, metal buttons, and ultra-fine welt pockets, but with a wide silhouette.
