The JAPAN EDITION collection was developed by a Japanese design team to suit Japan's climate and trends. Originating from a hunting coat first introduced in 1924, our classic Original Field Coat has been updated in terms of material, specifications, and fit. High-density taffeta, made from a blend of indigo-dyed fine cotton yarn and hollow polyester yarn, is woven with two layers of thin padding between the lining for superior warmth. Furthermore, stonewashing after sewing creates a natural faded look and soft texture, reminiscent of years of wear, resulting in a lightweight, enveloping comfort.

Outer fabric: 64% nylon / 36% cotton
The original fabric, "Nyco Taffeta," is a combination of fine-gauge nylon and natural cotton.
Further product washing gives it a more classic look.
Lining: 100% polyester
Rib-knit section: Made from 64% acrylic, 27% wool, 8% polyester, and 1% polyurethane.
Filling: 100% polyester
This product utilizes TORAY's proprietary 3D-structured, stretchable insulation, 〈3DeFX+® (Three Dee FX) INSULATION〉.
Four types of helical fibers intertwine in a complex manner, resulting in high elasticity and bulkiness.
It offers excellent heat retention thanks to its ample dead air pockets, and is also lightweight and compact.
The 3D structure of the insulation eliminates the need for stitch-down construction, preventing cold spots and maintaining high heat retention.
Additional Information
The shorter length and clean silhouette make it easy to match with various bottoms.
The cuffs and hem are ribbed.
This garment features a wool blend, seamless, and traditionally knitted tubular rib fabric.
Front closure with two-way zipper.
Pockets on both sides
Features a zippered pocket on the left inner chest area.
The inside of the hood and the body (including the inside of the pockets) are lined with fleece.
The hood has a drawstring for adjustable fit.
Our Katahdin logo label is located above the left side pocket.
