The origin of NANGA WHITE LABEL:
The "Ultimate Down Jacket Type 1."

We especially want those who might wonder, "It claims to be the ultimate, but is it truly warm enough?" to try it on just once.
The moment you slip it on, you will experience a distinct warmth spreading through the garment and a sensation of being gently enveloped by its soft, airy comfort.

A primary reason we feel cold is the loss of body heat.
The fundamental role of a down jacket is to trap heat within the layer of air held by the down feathers, thereby surrounding the body with warm air.
Therefore, the ability to retain a large volume of air is the key to quality.
The metric used to measure this performance is Fill Power (FP).
While 600 FP is generally considered high-quality, we utilize Hungarian silver goose down boasting over 900 FP.
Raised in a harsh natural environment, these feathers possess exceptional loft recovery and trap vast amounts of air.
Furthermore, by using UDD (Ultra Dry Down)—down treated with a super-water-repellent finish—we have overcome the inherent weakness of down: losing loft and collapsing when wet.
Another crucial factor determining cold-weather performance is the fill weight—the amount of down used.
For the Type 1, we generously use this high-quality down, filling it to 246g (average for size M)—the structural limit for filling at NANGA’s factory.
This specific amount was determined through repeated testing with artisans and pattern makers to achieve the perfect balance between ease of movement and thermal insulation.
To fully harness the natural loft of the down, we selected a lightweight yet highly durable 2.5-layer waterproof, breathable material for the outer shell.
Despite its thin 20-denier construction, it offers high levels of waterproofing, breathability, and tear resistance, resulting in a supple, stretchy, and comfortable fit.
For the lining, we combined durable water-repellent nylon (resistant to dirt) with anti-static material, ensuring the jacket is comfortable to put on and take off, even in the dry winter air. We also incorporated a unique seamless structure around the shoulders; this design prevents cold air from seeping in while simultaneously reducing the strain caused by carrying a backpack.

We focused heavily on everyday practicality as well.
To prevent collar stains—a common cause of wear and tear or the need for replacement—we equipped the neck area with a down-filled collar that can be easily attached or detached via a zipper.
The side touching the skin features comfortable block fleece.
Naturally, the jacket itself is machine-washable, making routine care simple.
The exterior features highly water-resistant zippers, along with ample pockets for storage.
Additionally, "pit zips" under the arms allow for the rapid release of excess heat and moisture—whether moving indoors or engaging in physical activity—enabling comfortable temperature regulation without needing to remove the jacket.
The front pockets are designed as hand-warmers, combining down insulation with fleece lining, while the hidden chest pocket is engineered so that the surrounding down insulation helps prevent smartphone battery drain caused by the cold.

For the 2026 model, we have introduced "cord-adjusting fasteners" for the hood and hem adjustments.
We re-evaluated the usability of traditional drawcords—which were often difficult to loosen once tightened—to ensure smooth release and readjustment.

The color concept is "The Beautiful Scenery of Hokkaido."
Rather than focusing on famous tourist spots, we carefully selected and expressed colors inspired by the winter landscapes and crisp air we encounter in our daily lives.

This ultimate down jacket bears no flashy, instantly recognizable icon.
At first glance, it appears to be a simple garment, yet it pursues the absolute best cold-weather protection for urban wear.
Born in the freezing climate of Asahikawa, this is the ultimate down jacket as we envisioned it.
