This herringbone fabric is woven with a doubled warp thread made from extra-long staple uneven yarn, and a weft thread made from alternating highly uneven and less uneven yarns. It expresses the natural unevenness of the warp and weft that is unique to vintage fabrics, a result of the poor spinning technology of the time. Dyeing the fabric with a color-fast dye gives it a vintage feel while retaining the luster and softness of extra-long staple cotton.
