This shoulder bag is made from No. 8 canvas, a plain weave of twisted cotton yarn. Primarily used for tents and truck canopies, this material is durable, breathable, and offers greater functionality than regular cotton. Every step of the No. 8 canvas production process, from spinning, weaving, dyeing, and washing, is carried out in Japan. The final wash treatment gives the bag a distinctive, worn-in look with a distinctive faded, worn-in feel, and a soft, crumpled texture.
The shape is inspired by vintage newspaper bags from the 1940s and 1950s, but has been evolved to be even more user-friendly. The wide shoulder strap provides stability even when carrying a large load. The gusset ensures ample storage capacity.
